ALIX 3d2 single-board computer

This is the main compute platform on the boat. It is an ALIX 3d2 manufactured by PC Engines in Switzerland. The board runs off 12 volts, and doesn't generate a lot of heat, hence the lack of a heatsink on the main CPU. On the down-side, it sports a measly 512MB of RAM. The advantages of these boards are that they consume around 6 watts and have a built-in RS-232 port.
